Do your "2-minute tasks" ever take an hour or longer?
Do you ever struggle to accomplish "quick" admin tasks? You are not alone!
On Monday I tried to make an appointment with my dermatologist. Easy peasy, right? Here's what actually happened.
I called, listened to all their prompts, waited my turn, and heard someone at the office pick up and say "Please hold" before she hung up on me. Twice. The third time I called, I heard a fast busy signal. The fourth time, I successfully scheduled my appointment, confirming at the same time that this doctor's office offers no way to reach them other than to call. Sigh.
Thanks to so-called "advances" in technology and, I believe, late-stage capitalism, it is objectively harder than ever to manage simple life admin tasks these days. Do you find yourself struggling in a similar way? I'd like to discuss this topic more and figure out how we can collectively cope with it better.
